Getting your web site to your host is a simple process
that involves sending the site files from your computer to your host.
The method used to do this is called File Transfer Protocol or FTP.
Most, if not all the free web hosts provide some way to transfer your
files to them and it will probably suffice in most situations. The HTML
editors in this section all include an FTP application also.
If, for some reason you don't have access to some kind of FTP method,
the list below will take you to a few very good programs. These are
shareware or demo programs, but inexpensive. You can find free programs
by checking Download.Com
FileZilla : A FREE beginner level FTP program. You'll find a tutorial for setting up and using FileZilla here.
Cute
FTP : Easy to use and powerful, this program includes such features
as drag and drop and a lite version of their HTML editor. 30 day demo
available.
WS_FTP
: The Pro version contains similar features as Cute FTP and is available
in a 30 day trial version.
Coffee
Cup Direct FTP : This is a cool program that has the same features
as the two above plus the ability to zip and unzip your files from
right inside the program. An HTML editor is included and costs less
than either Cute FTP and WS_FTP. Demo version available.
