As mentioned elsewhere in this site, PhotoImpact is not the "end
all" to web design. If you plan on using PI for the bulk of your
design projects, or to create an entire site, you'll need to acquire
a few extra tools to help you along the way.
HTML Editors: allow you to open your PI web
page so you can change or tweak the HTML code that PI created. PI is
far from perfect, so grab one of these. It's also a great way to learn
HTML.
FTP Programs: You will need a way to transfer
your site files to your host and these programs will help. If your web
host doesn't supply an FTP tool, get one of these.
Script Tools: After you get comfortable with
web design, you'll probably want to spice up your pages with some nifty
effects. Scripts do just that. These tools will help you create java
scripts to use in your site.
Animation: One animation tool you already have
is Gif Animator, which came with your copy of PhotoImpact. Here are
some more which require little or no experience in scripts or HTML.
Web Services: These are online services
that will check your HTML as well as provide mail lists and other fun
things.
